Miku and Kaito and the Smart- Puppets: The Finale?

Hello, Tanudama here! Following the fun of part 1 and part 2 of this event, there is one more additiom to it that you can get involved in. Let me show you what you can get up to next, including new missions, gacha and packs in-store!

There is a log-in bonus of 3 Mikucoins each day, so make sure to collect them when you can!

New “Advance! Mikucolle Exploration Team” Quest available to play!

Once you log in, you’ll not only Mikucoins, but also a dialogue between Kaito and Miku (check the end of this article for translations!)

So when you go to the quest section you’ll see this banner:

When you click on this banner, you’ll be brought to the next set of missions which get more and more difficult as you progress through them. On completing each level, you’ll get golden tickets, which you can use for the special gacha (don’t worry, I’ll explain about this later).

The enemies don’t have a specific element attached to them, so you can attack them with cards of any type! The more difficult the level, the more golden tickets you get. You can also get red challenge medals for completing missions, which can be exchanged at the “Exchange Shop” (交換所) for cool clothing items!

Each time you clear a stage here, you’ll also be shown your “high score”. Anyone who gets a high score of 20,000,000 points in the event will get a special card, so make sure you try to get to the higher levels and rack up those points! You can increase you high score by including special cards in your deck too! Which cards should you be using though? All will be revealed in a moment!

New gacha!

We have a variety of new gacha available for this event:

-The first gacha here is an expensive one – it costs 100 Mikucoins for one 10+ 1 extra card pull, but you’re guaranteed at least 1 SSR card with, so it’s probably worthwhile. You can only do this gacha a maximum of three times though.

-Next is the gacha with three options: for this gacha, the first button on the left is one pull only, and it costs 3 Miku coins (this one can be played up to once a day though). The middle button gives you a one pull gacha too, but you can play it as many times you like each day, and it costs 5 Mikucoins per pull. On the right-hand side you have the third button, which gives you 10 cards plus one extra, so it’s definitely the best value for money. You will get at least one SSR with this pull, and it costs 50 Mikucoins.

-Third down is a gacha which requires tickets, which can be acquired through buying packs in the online store (I’ll explain more about this a little later). With this one, you only get one pull per ticket, but there’s a high probability for an SSR+.

-After this comes another ticket-limited gacha, but with this one, you should get no less than an SSR with your single pull.

These are the cards you’ll be aiming to get in these gacha:

Art by 黎 (kuroi)

Skill: Segreto Insieme

ヴェルタ★ファミリア カンターレ / Verta Famiglia Cantare – SSR+

Art by 黎 (kuroi)

Skill: Segreto Reggiadoro

-Finally, there’s a ticket-based gacha which anyone can use! In this gacha, the golden tickets you collected in the missions earlier can be used to collect super cool cards! The rate for SSR is 3% while SR is 97%, and those are the only two types of cards you can get. There are plenty to get, so good luck!

New packs in-store!

As always, there are packs to buy with real-life money on the shop!

Star Mikufest Pack 10000 – ¥10000 ($91 USD / £70 GBP)

Dialogue translation (non-official)

1. Kaito: Well then… I wonder if we should somehow try to more or less summarise this whole ordeal.

2. Miku: The town centre is finally back to how it was before!

3. Kaito: So ultimately, what was that clock, even?

4. Miku: That huge thing was existing within our independent city.

5. Kaito: But why did that thing wake up? Was it some kind of accident?

6. Miku: The whole accident was just an inevitable accumulation. That inevitability was just something that we didn’t see.

7. Kaito: An accumulation that we didn’t see, huh…

8. Miku: In those ten years, the steam circuit developed a complication, so I’m guessing that huge clock got a kind of an upgrade from it?

9. Miku: So that’s why, because of the subjugation method we used, I think that we didn’t manage to stop the clock from evolving further.

10. Kaito: Well I’m glad that my method was convenient. Even in Winter you can still eat ice cream with the power of steam.

11. Miku: The excessive consumption of such refrigerated goods will end up ruining your stomach, you know?

12. Kaito: It’s fine!

13. [Ornith whizzes past] Kaito: Huh?

14. Miku: Ornith, where are you going?!

15. Miku: I wonder if something’s happened again…

16. Miku: Wait a sec, Ornith!!

MIKUCOLLE EVENT: “MIKU AND KAITO AND THE SMART- PUPPETS” – Part 2

The next part of the “Miku and Kaito and the Smart- puppets” event is in full swing, with even more new cards to collect! I’ve been grinding through levels to see what’s in store for us, so here I’ll explain exactly what you can do throughout the duration of it. I’ve also included the second half of the dialogue translations from between Miku and Kaito at the end of the article!

(For information about the first part of the event, you can read my previous article, and for the finale, here’s the third part).

Handsome steampunk Kaito, anyone? Art by 那流

In terms of the event missions, the levels that you worked on in the first half of the event are still there, so you can continue to progress through them if necessary! When you look on the events section in the “mission list”, you’ll see that there are new achievements to complete! Objectives include:

-Completing the event levels without having to revive yourself

-Defeating a certain amount of normal bosses

-Finishing the EX boss level

-Finishing the EX Boss level with a deck with less than 10 cards

Completing these will give you clothing items, accessories or magical items, Mikucoins, “Angel Jyakushi” shards or red box gacha tickets (I’ll talk more about those later!)

Once you finish the last level (level 3-4), you’ll have access to the “EX boss” mission for 30 minutes. During these thirty minutes, you can try the most difficult level, which is the only level which continually gives you box gacha tickets. After 30 minutes, this mission banner will disappear, and you’ll have to clear level 3-4 again to reactivate it.

I definitely recommend collecting as many of each clothing item/accessory/magical item as possible, because then you can use copies of them to rank up one of them and make them stronger!

New gacha available

For this half of the event, we have five different types of gacha to try!

-The first gacha at the top is a three-option gacha, so you can choose one option depending on how many Mikucoins you have. The button on the left is one pull only, and it costs you 3 Mikucoins. You can do this one only once a day, and it only gives you one card per pull. The button in the middle is a one pull option too, but you can play it as many times per day as you want, and it costs 5 Mikucoins per pull. If you one of the regular golden gacha tickets, you can use that for one pull using the middle button instead. On the far right we have the third option, which gives you 10 cards plus one extra –the best value out of all three types here. You should get at least one SSR with this gacha, and it costs 50 Mikucoins.

-Our second one is the free gacha, which gives each player the opportunity to do one “10 cards +1 extra” pull without paying anything. These free gacha have pretty good rates for SSRs and SSR+ cards, so don’t forget to try this one.

-Thirdly, we have a gacha which requires specific tickets that you have to buy in the online store. You only get one pull for this, but there’s a high probability for SSR+ cards. I’ll explain about how to get these tickets in a moment.

-Following this one, we have a gacha which requires a different type of specific ticket. However with this one, you should get no less than an SSR with your pull.

And here are the main cards you’ll be aiming to get with these gacha:

「蒸気機関と歯車の街」/ “Town of Steam Engines and Cogs” (Jyouki-kikan to haguruma no machi) – SSR+

Art by 那流

Skill: “I’ll introduce you to the town built on steam!”

「Snow Sky 雪ミク」/ “Snow Sky Snow Miku” – SSR+

Art by へいわ (Heiwa)

Skill: “Let’s sing on the winter grounds”

「Snow Sky ルか」/ “Snow Sky Luka” – SSR+

Art by へいわ (Heiwa)

Skill: “Let’s pass the time in the winter grounds”

Snow Sky MEIKO – SSR+

Art by へいわ (Heiwa)

Skill: “Let’s be healed in the winter grounds”

Top tip: add any of these cards to your deck during this event (especially as the leader card), and you’ll get a boost of power during missions, and your overall score will be higher!

But those aren’t the only gacha Mikucolle has for us! Lastly we have the Box Gacha, which uses those red box gacha tickets I mentioned earlier.

On this screen is box no.1 out of 7, and each box has at least 12 items within it. Each item within the box can be redeemed once, so you need 12 tickets to finish box one. Then you move onto box 2, which has 13 items, etc. etc. Now I’ll show you what’s in each box:

(Boxes 2 to 6 all have the same items in them).

As well as getting the steampunk-themed clothing items, there are special cards to collect too:

「がおがお☆かいじゅう」/ “Roar Roar ☆ Monsters” (Gao Gao kaijyuu) – SSR+

Art by まご (Mago)

Skill: “Everyone’s a monster”

Cards, from left to right: “Gao Gao Kaijyuu” Miku, Rin, Len, Luka, Kaito and Meiko.

Miku: “Plant monster” / Rin: “Electricity monster” / Len: “Light monster” / Luka: “Healing monster” / Kaito: “Water droplet monster” / Meiko: “Flame monster”

Items (left to right): Mechanical Bird (right hand item) – ranks up to level 5
Antique Telescope (right hand item) – ranks up to level 5
Antique Key (left hand item) – ranks up to level 5

Now I’ll explain how to earn these white box gacha tickets. In the Event (イベント) section of the Mission List (ミッションリスト) , you’ll find white tickets with red writing, which you can earn using the methods I outlined previously

All of these white Box Gacha tickets need to be exchanged into red box gacha tickets in the “Exchange Shop” (交換所). 100 red tickets give you just one white ticket, which can actually be used for the box gacha shown. So for example, you’ll need 1200 white box gacha tickets just to get through Box 1.

So to get enough box gacha tickets, you’ll have to try and complete all of the relevant missions, and then grind in the EX Boss level to get more.

New packs in store!

In other news, we also have more new packs to buy with real-life money.

1.Mikufest Second-part Pack 10000 – ¥10000($91 USD/£70 GBP)

-225 Mikucoins (Buy 100, get 125 free).

– One SSR+ Mikufest second-part gacha ticket (A ticket for the “high probability SSR+ gacha” I mentioned earlier).

2.Mikufest Second-part Pack 4900 – ¥4900 ($44 USD / £34)

-91 Mikucoins (Buy 49, get 42 free!)

-One “At least an SSR” Mikufest first half gacha (for the “At least SSR” gacha from earlier).

Note: you can buy each of these packs a maximum of 10 times.

The last aspect of this event is as follows: when you play an event mission, the points you earn will help you get a rank. You’ll be placed in a leaderboard amongst other players, and some of the highest ranked will get this card:

「紙のうえに広がる世界」/ “A world unfolding on paper” (Kami no ue ni hirogaru sekai) – SSR+

Art by 姐川 (Sogawa)

Skill: “A variety of colours”

The top 100 players in the rankings will be able to get at least one of these cards!

Thank you for reading my summary of the current Mikucolle event! This event will be running until the 16th March 13:59 JST, so there’s still time to finish it! I’m sure we’ll have more updates soon, so keep your eyes on our social media pages to find out what’s happening next.

Dialogue translations (Part 2):

37. Miku: Ooh, I wonder if you haven’t become rather meek yourself, Kaito.

38. Kaito: I may have become a little meek but… ugh… there’ll never be an end to this kinda stuff, I guess.

39. Miku: So Kaito, what do you think?

40. Kaito: Well there’s no data to work from, right?

41. Miku: I wonder where it is… that data.

42. Kaito: I thought about it too, I mean, you said it yourself. There are enemies in the security circuit in the central analytical engine which haven’t been detected.

43: Miku: I didn’t say that they were enemies necessarily… but yeah.

44. Kaito: You’re the No.1 genius engineer in the town, Miku. That’s something that everyone acknowledges, so there will be no mistakes in your analysis.

45. Kaito: If what you say is true.

46. Miku: If what I say is true?

47: Kaito: A place that you can’t see… there’s nothing outside the steam powered engine that you know of?

48. Miku: Outside…?

49: Ornith [returning again]: *shoo, hee hee chirrrrp*

50: Kaito: Hey, welcome back Ornith! Thanks for your hard work running these errands for me

51: Ornith: *fushuu*

52. Miku: Eh, Kaito, what does Ornith want?

53: Kaito: Mm, I asked him to take this and fly around the town centre with it.

54. Miku: Oooh, it’s so pretty! …Is it a gemstone?

55. Kaito: It looks like an amethyst, but the chemical makeup of it is different. It’s a much rarer type of crystal.

56. Kaito: For example, I’ve been thinking that if there is this something like that in the middle of the town, that would result in the area surrounding it looking kinda distorted or warped, right?

57. Miku: …yeah?

58. Kaito: This crystal will react with the distortion and form a needle shaped-substance inside.

59. Kaito: So to speak, I wonder if the sharp substance could carve up the afterimage of the distortion of space and result a projected time machine…

60. Miku: I don’t really understand, but that sounds amazing!

61. Kaito: It’s pretty cool! With this mission, we can’t even overlook a kitten with its sly steps!

62. Miku: Nevermind that. Then what? What else do you have to say about this gemstone?

63. Kaito: There’s a huge machine which warps time – the Giant Clock.

64. Miku: What even is that?

65. Kaito: A machine which isn’t connected to the town’s circuits… but because the Giant Clock can’t move, it continually multiplies itself.

66. Miku: So you’re saying… that the nucleus of the analytical engine wasn’t under surveillance and we have a situation where this clock thing will just keep multiplying itself?

67. Kaito: Uhh, when you boil it all down…-

68: Miku: That’s a pretty dangerous clock!

69. Kaito: Right, well we’d better stop said clock then!

Mikulogi Mobile App – The Newest in Cute Puzzle Solving Games! (Review)

Hello everyone, Tanudama here! We at Vocasphere were excited to hear about the newest Vocaloid-centered mobile app “Mikulogi”… and so most of us decided to invest in playing it! I’d like to present you with a full overview of the game, with help from our lovely editor (who is way better at this game than me, annoyingly enough).

The app does cost money to download initially, but after that there are no in-game purchases. Until March 31st 2020 there is also a 50%-off commemorative sale, making it ¥120 ($1 USD / £0.90 GBP) instead of ¥240 ($1.80 USD / £1.80 GBP).

Right, let’s begin!

The start page, with a super cute animated pixel-Miku!

The music is rather pleasant when you enter the game, and if you check the “credits” button on the start page, you’ll see that it was created by the producer SuketchP (すけっちP) and it’s called “Last Summer Memories”. The game only uses a fragment of the full song, so I’d definitely recommend listening to the original if you can. There are brief instructions to help you, but I found them pretty confusing, and was raging for a full 10 or so minutes before I figured out how the game works. You can check the instructions by clicking on the small [?] icon in the top right corner.

In the first box, it says that you need to fill in the grid using the hints (numbers) above each column and to the left of each row. I didn’t realise that when there is a gap between the numbers (e.g. “1 1”), it doesn’t mean eleven, it means there needs to be at least one “X” (blank) space between the first coloured box (1) and the second one (1), making “1 [space(s)] 1”.

The aim is to fill in the correct boxes without making any mistakes. As our lovely editor said, “it’s kinda like sudoku”.

By clicking on the cog icon, you get the game settings:

As you can imagine, the top button allows you to make the background music louder or quieter, or turn it off all together. The second one allows you to do the same with the sound effects. The “operation” buttons change the way you play, so if you click the button with the hand, you’re able to slide-select lines of blocks to colour. The grid button to the left of it means that you can choose individual squares more precisely, to avoid choosing the wrong ones. And lastly you can turn the vibrations on or off. By clicking on the “Miku Navi” banner, you’ll be redirected to your app store, where you can download the Miku Navi app – an app which has the lastest news from all of Crypton Future Media’s Vocaloid projects!

Beginning to play

When you enter the game, you’ll see this screen. The first four buttons show the four difficulties: level one has puzzles with images made up of 25 squares altogether, level 2 has 100 per puzzle, and level 3 has 225 (I’ll get onto explaining the joys of the “special levels” later).

Level 1: Stages 1 to 25

Level 1 and 2 have 25 stages each, while level 3 has a whopping 100 stages to clear. Even as I write this, I look at all of those future levels in dismay.

I’ll use Level 1 – Stage 1 as an example for how to play!

As you can see, there are numbers on the screen, which indicate how many squares need to be coloured. Make sure that you keep both horizontal and vertical lines in mind, since the puzzles can only be completed in one way (from what I’m aware).

Use the pen tool to colour squares (marks made with this tool can’t be erased), and use the grey “X” tool next to it to plot “X” marks around the puzzle where you think there definitely can’t be a coloured square. This second tool is really handy because it helps you narrow down where the coloured boxes will be. If you’re stuck, you can press the orange hints button on the bottom which fills in some squares for you (you can use this button up to 3 times per puzzle). However, if you use any hints, you won’t be able to get all three stars on that stage.

I’d recommend colouring any rows or columns which are definitely full. For example, because this grid is 5 x 5, if you see the number 5, just go ahead and fill in the whole column (see above).

If you complete a row or column successfully, the row/column will be locked in, and you can’t change it. Blank “X” marks are also filled in automatically once you colour the boxes correctly. If you make a mistake, it will be marked with a dark pink “X” mark. Your own plotted “X” marks can be removed by tapping them after they’ve been plotted, if you think you put it in the wrong place.

Once the puzzle is finished, you see a fully coloured rendition of what you made!

You can collect stars for each stage too. You get one just for clearing the stage, one for not using any hints, and a final one for not making any mistakes (mistakes being shown by those dark pink “X” marks).

You can also share your achievement via social media (the round turquoise icon), and then convey your incredulity as to HOW this is supposed to be a bottle to your friends:

…Or you can just press the pink arrow button to return to the stage selection page. Once you’ve completed a puzzle, you get an illustration in the “gallery” section.

There are so many illustrations! You might even recognise some of them~☆

Okay so now comes the most interesting part! Clicking on the “Special” level button will bring you to a page with 4 grey squares (stages). Clicking on one of these will bring you to… more stages WITHIN the stage.

As you can see, each stage (from one to four) in the “Special” category is made up of lots of smaller stages!

Complete all the sub-stages to get the final pixel image!

I’ll say that if you like doing puzzle games, this sort of app is definitely up your alley. The music can get a bit annoying after a while, especially since you can’t change it, and the overall concept of the game makes it pretty repetitive, since you’re doing the same thing continuously. It’s a nice app to have when you need to kill a bit of time, and it even works with no internet, so you can play it anywhere (although without internet, you can’t use the “share your achievements on social media” feature). It’s sad that they don’t give credit to the artists who created each illustration, but it’s also not terribly expensive, so if you’ve got a bit of money spare, I’d definitely suggest giving it a try!

Some of my favourite illustrations from the game!

Top left: art by サワシ (sawashi), used for Kaito’s birthday event in mobile app Mikucolle.

Top right: Art by BUZZ, used for a Len-themed special event in Mikucolle.

Middle: Art by がり(Gari), used for Megurine Luka’s birthday event in Mikucolle.

Bottom left: art by KEI, used as the original illustration Hatsune Miku’s boxart.

Botrom right: art by iXima, used as the illustration for Kagamine Rin and Len V4x boxart.

That’s everything about the app “Mikulogi”! If you play it, I hope that you won’t get quite as angry as I do everytime I mess up! The game is now available on both Android and iOS supported devices, so check the bottom of the article for links to go and buy them!

39 (Mi-ku) Day and Mikucolle – New Limited Gacha and More!

Hello, Tanudama here! We hope that everyone has enjoyed Miku Day! Of course, mobile game “Mikucolle” has something for its players too so that we can continue to celebrate this important day… by trying our luck with gacha!

The opening screen is reasonably promising… (Art by Peta).

There is a short Miku Day event running from March 8th to March 12th, finishing just before the first half of the current “Miku and Kaito and the Smart- Puppets” event. During this time period, you’ll get 5 Mikucoins for logging in, which when added to the 3 Mikucoins from the current Mikufest event (running until March 16th), gives you 8 free Mikucoins a day when you log in!

Hatsune Miku-only gacha

The main attraction for this event is the Miku-only gachas available! There are three altogether, and they look like this:

As always, I’ll explain how each one works!

-With the first banner shown, we have a gacha which needs 100 Mikucoins for a 10+ 1 extra gacha pull. From one pull you’ll get at least SR cards, and you’re guaranteed at least one SSR+ from it. Plus, all cards gained from this come with rank and level maxed out already! The rate for SSR+ cards is pretty high in comparison to other gacha, so I can understand why it’s so expensive.

-The second Miku day gacha is a three way type, so there are three different options for playing it. The first button on the far left is a one pull only option, and it costs 3 Mikucoins. You can only do this one once a day though. The middle button is a one pull gacha too, but there’s no limit to how many times you can play it, and it costs 5 Mikucoins per pull. lastly is the third option, which gives you 10 cards plus one extra, so it’s the best value for money our of the three. You should get at least one SSR with this gacha, and it costs 50 Mikucoins per pull.

-And finally we have everyone’s favourite gacha: the free gacha! That means you’re able to do a full “10 cards + 1 extra” type of pull without paying anything. It’s a great way to add some sneaky rare cards to your collection without having to grind for Mikucoins or spend real money!

And here are the featured cards you’ll be trying to win:

「出動!正義のポリースガール」/ “Move out! Police girl of justice” (Shuddou! Seigi no Poriisu Gaaru) – SSR+

Art by Peta

Skill: You’re under arrest!

「バレンタインスウィート」/ “Valentine Sweet” (Barentain Suiito) – SSR+

Art by えー助

Skill: “Melting Ganache”

「ショコラな気持ち」/ “Chocolatey Feeling” (Shokora na Kimochi) – SSR+

Art by 姐川 (Sogawa)

Skill: Message for…

「大人はもう寝る時間よ」/ “It’s already time for the adults to go to sleep” (Otona wa mou neru jikan yo)- SSR+

Art by 木屋町 (Kiyamachi)

Skill: “Boundary of Black Lace”

「想いの形」/ “Shape of my Feelings” (Omoi no Katachi) – SSR

Art by アズ(Azu)

Skill: “I wonder if I should give them this…”

「Classic SixXXX Miku」 – SSR

Art by BUZZ

Skill: “Cake au Chocolat”

New support packs in the online store!

If you need some help getting Mikucoins for gacha-ing, this is the place to find them! These are the new packs available:

Here we have:

Miku Day Celebration Pack 10000 -¥10000 ($91 USD / £70 GBP)

-225 Mikucoins (Buy 100, get 125 free!)

-1x “Archangel”

Miku Day Celebration Pack 4900 – ¥4900 ($44 USD / £34)

-106 Mikucoins (Buy 49, get 57 free!)

-1x “Electron”

Note: both of these packs can only be bought from the store once, and they are available until 12th March 2020.

Although there’s not a huge amount to do in this event, it’s definitely a very cute way to celebrate Miku no Hi (Miku Day). Good luck with the gacha if you try them!

Merchandise Announced for the Sakura Miku x Animate Café 2020

Hello everyone, Tanudama here! And I’m here to excitedly present the freshly announced merchandise available at the Sakura Miku x Goodsmile x Animate Café to you. If you’d like to know specific details about the collaboration, you can read the main article here.

Without further ado, let me unveil the merch…

In the first box at the top, we can see the “big acrylic stands” for ¥1,600 (about £12 GBP / $15 USD). They feature the art of from 芳野サク, Naoto and さくらしおり (Sakura Shiori) respectively. They will be roughly 15cm x 12cm, so they are indeed reasonably big.

Second on the list of merch are the “trading can badges”. And we all know what that means… it means that you won’t be able to choose which one you want, since they’ll be blind bagged. For the badges, we have two of each Cryptonloid (12 badges altogether), with half of them based of the illustration by 猫魚 /Neko Sakana, and the other half from that of つるしまたつみ / Tsurushima Tatsumi. Let’s hope that we’ll have good luck when us Vocasphere reporters go there ourselves! These are ¥400 each (about £3 GBP / $4 USD) and each badge is about 5.6cm in diameter.

Now in the top left corner, we have a Sakura Miku lunchbox! In delicate pastel pink and white, we have a practical item that can be used to rekindle your memories of this Sakura Miku café collaboration. This costs ¥1,600 too, it’s about 20.5 x 9 x 6 cm in size, is made of polypropylene and has a motif of 福きつね (Fuku Kitsune)’s Miku illustration . As well as getting the lunchbox, you’ll also be gifted with one of six Sakura Miku- only trading can badges! Again, since they’re trading can badges, you won’t be able to choose which one you want exactly, but they’re all cute either way. To top it all off, you’ll also get a set of five prawn-flavoured senbei (rice crackers).

To the right of the lunchbox are the “acrylic portraits”, of which there are ones for every commissioned artist (芳野サク, 綿 / Men (Attaka Taoru Men), さくらしおり (Sakura Shiori), 福きつね (Fuku Kitsune), Naoto, つるしまたつみ / Tsurushima Tatsumi and 猫魚 / Neko Sakana. They’re actually pretty big at A4 size, and they cost ¥700 per portrait (about £5 GBP / $7 USD).

In the bottom left corner, you an see the designs for the “uchiwa” fans, which are fans that people tend to use in the summer to keep cool. You can get one with either the illustration from 芳野サク, 綿 / Men or 福きつね (Fuku Kitsune). Like the portraits, these are ¥700 each, but they come in a size of 11.2 cm x 13.4 cm.

As our last item we have the acrylic drink stirrers! At the top they have small illustration of 猫魚 / Neko Sakana’s Miku, Rin, Len, Luka, Meiko and Kaito, depending on which one you buy. Each one is about 17 cm in length, with the illustrated part being around 3.5 cm in diameter, and they’ll set you back by ¥800 per portrait (about £6 GBP / $8 USD).

(Note: all prices include tax!)

But there’s something else I’m particularly excited about… and it’s the new campaign the café will have!

Okay… so here’s what you have to do to be in with the chance of winning one of ten Sakura Miku happi (a traditional japanese straight- sleeved coat, typically worn to festivals).

  1. Take a photo of the menu, merchandise or store when you’re there.
  2. Upload the photo to social media and show it to a member of staff in- store so that they can verify it.
  3. Fill in the application form that they give you. Once you’ve filled out the details on the form, you can post it into their application forms box.
  4. . Once the collaboration cafe is finished, the winners will be drawn by a lottery. There will be five winners from each store, making ten winners altogether.

(Note: you’ll need to fill in your details in japanese, and potentially have a japanese address to use so that they can send you the prize if you win).

I think that that’s just about everything we need to know about the collabo café before it opens in March! For more information about the design competition that they held for the menu items, feel free to read about it here, and to see what the menu items will look like in real life, you can read our overview here!

We hope that everyone who manages to go there has an amazing time, and we’ll make sure to gather as many photos as possible when we go ourselves!

Thanks for reading!

Mikucolle Event: “Miku and Kaito and the Smart- Puppets” 02/03/2020 ~ 16/03/2020

Hello everyone! Today I have something for Mikucolle players to feast their eyes upon – the new event, “Miku and Kaito and the Smart- Puppets” (ミクとKAITOと機巧の人形). I’m certainly excited to show you what’s going on, so let’s dive into the magical steampunk-ish world of the new event.

(For info about the second half of this event, you can check out my other article, and likewise click here for the third part.

First up, we can get a generous 3 Mikucoins JUST for logging in every day! And considering I couldn’t join in the Len gacha that was around recently, I know I’m pretty broke of Mikucoins right about now, so this is definitely handy. This will be happening from March 3rd to March 16th… so that’s 39 Mikucoins altogether if you log in every day!

So now onto the event info!

This is the first part of the event, and for it you’ll need to make your way through all of the levels and stages, beating the baddies! Each time you clear a new level, you get a Mikucoin too! When you start the event quest, you’ll be met with a set of dialogue between Kaito and Miku (for the first set of translations, feel free to check out the end of this article!)

For this event, the enemies will all be water-type ones, so I’d advise creating a deck made entirely of leaf-type cards to combat them most effectively.

Participants in the event can get cool items!

While you’re playing the levels, you could be in with a chance of finding event-limited clothing items for your character! If you’re looking for a specific characters’ item, make sure to check the item-drop info before you launch into the game:

These items won’t necessarily drop automatically when you play a level- sometimes you’ll need to play a small cluster of levels multiple times just to get the specific items you want.

The last level is number 3 – 4, and if you complete all of the levels, you’ll not only get one of the titular “Smart-birds” as a magical item, but you’ll also be able to try the EX Boss Quest:

If you finish this quest, you’ll receive a cool telescope as an item too!

Left: Mechanical Bird (right hand item)
Right: Antique Telescope (right hand item)

Rainbow Rush Gacha

-First we have a gacha with three options. The button furthest on the left is one pull only, and it costs 3 Mikucoins. You can do this one only once a day. The middle button is a one pull gacha too, but you can play it as many times per day as you want, and it costs 5 Mikucoins per pull. If you have a regular golden gacha ticket, you can use that for one pull in this gacha as well. On the far right we have the third option, which gives you 10 cards plus one extra the best value gacha. You should get at least one SSR with this gacha, and it costs 50 Mikucoins.

-Second in the list is the free gacha. With this one, you’ll be able to do the equivalent of a 10 + 1 pulls gacha without paying anything. This gacha will disappear from the page once used, leaving the other four event gacha behind. It’s really handy to get a good selection of high level cards, actually.

-For our third gacha, you’ll need to use special gacha tickets instead of Mikucoins. You only get one pull, but there’s a high probability for SSR+ cards. You’ll find out how to get these tickets in a little while.

-The last event-exclusive gacha requires tickets too, but instead, you should get no less than an SSR with your single pull if you try it

Cards available in-gacha

“But what cards are we specifically aiming to get with these new gacha”, you may be wondering. Well, allow me to show you!

【★】Clockwork Castle – SSR+

Art By 高宮蓮 (Takamiya Ren)

Skill: Clockwork steam castle

【★】Snow Sky リン / Snow Sky Rin – SSR+

Thank you for reading!

Dialogue translations (Part 1):

  1. Kaito: Okay, let’s go over the situation once more.
  2. Miku: Sounds good to me. Do you want to start?
  3. Kaito: The “Smart-Control Engines” in the centre of town have begun to malfunction
  4. Miku: Indeed. The first ones to malfunction was with those “Smart Service Workers”
  5. Kaito: The so-called “Waiter-robots”?
  6. Miku: Mhm. So-called indeed… Can you believe it? Instead of Tea, they serve oil!
  7. Kaito: Hot oil?
  8. Miku: Yeah, all it would need is a lemon slice in it and it’d taste perfect… For goodness sake, Kaito, come on, this is hardly a laughing matter!
  9. Kaito: Next to malfunction were the mechanisms in automatic vehicles
  10. Miku: I wonder what it would be like to drive in a car that can’t even go in a straight line? And this time, there have been problems with the “Automatic Music Orchestra”.
  11. Kaito: An off-key orchestra sounds somewhat unfortunate, doesn’t it?
  12. Miku: Of course it’s unfortunate!!
  13. Kaito: Ooh, she’s angry…
  14. Miku: And of course, I’m angry.
  15. Ornith [appears]: *Skree-hee-hee-chirrrrp*
  16. Kaito: Ah, welcome back Ornith (a “Smart- bird”). What’s the situation in town like?
  17. Miku: Wait a sec, I’m just going to read Ornith’s data log now…
  18. Ornith: *cheep*?
  19. Miku: Mhm, unfortunate indeed…
  20. Kaito: Ornith, what is it?
  21. Miku: It said that they couldn’t find anything suspicious.
  22. Miku: Ornith discovered the sensor module which is directly connected to the central analytical engine…from what I can understand.
  23. Miku: The thing that Ornith couldn’t identify is something which appears to have “awoken” in the town center, and it wasn’t even picked up by the security system.
  24. Kaito: I don’t really get it, but in short, this is a bad situation, right?
  25. Miku: In short, this is a terrible situation! And I have no idea where we should start with investigating this.
  26. Kaito: So there’s even something that even the town’s No.1 genius engineer doesn’t understand!
  27. Miku: Well, there’s no data on this!
  28. Kaito: But these “Smart-“ things running rampant aren’t going to wait for us to figure this out!
  29. Miku: The disturbance is only spreading further…
  30. Kaito: If we can’t manage to stop this chaos, then the situation will just get worse and worse.
  31. Miku: Even if we use underhanded methods, I guess we have no choice but to bring those malfunctioning machines under control.
  32. Kaito: But how do we do it?
  33. Miku: In your case, Kaito, how do you fix a broken difference engine?
  34. Kaito: Well, you start off by trying to hit it.
  35. Miku: Yes, YES! Absolutely! (music note) We’ll start off by whacking them one by one!
  36. Kaito: W-wait, really?!

A Len-only Gacha?! Mikucolle Updates 25/02/2020 ~ 02/03/2020

Greetings, fans of Kagamine Len (and everyone else…). Here I’ll be explaining the newest updates in mobile game Mikucolle, just as the Snow Miku – Mikufest event is over!

(Art by BUZZ)

First things first, each player will receive one free Mikucoin per day between 25th February and 2nd March while the Guild Battles are going on!

I’ll explain more about that in a minute, but for now…

Kagamine Len – only Gacha

In our gacha here, you get three ways to play! The first button on the left is one pull only, and it costs 3 Mikucoins. You can do this one once a day. The middle one is a one pull gacha too, but you can play it as many times each day as you wish. This one costs 5 Mikucoins per pull. (As well as using Mikucoins, if you have a regular golden gacha ticket, you can use that for one pull option too, using the middle button shown). Lastly, you can see the third option, which gives you 10 cards plus one extra in one pull, so it’s the best value for money. You should get at least one SSR with this gacha, and it costs 50 Mikucoins.

And here is the main card that you will be trying to get your hands on with this gacha:

「夢見る音楽隊 レン」/ “Dreaming of a Music Band Len” (Yume-Miru Ongakutai Len) – SSR+

Art by BUZZ

Skill: “Let’s make a band!”

Aww, just look at that cutie! As you may have noticed, all of the character-specific gacha that have been happening have had the same theme of “Dreaming of a Music Band”, with the previous installment being that of Rin!

In addition to this, if you use this special Len card as your leader card during Guild Battles, all other cards in your current deck will get +100% in Singing Power! Make sure to make a “Len-only deck” if possible, since Len cards get a boost in Singing Power too during battles.

Other special cards available in the gacha are:

「童話と不思議な絵本 レン」/ “Fairytale and the Mysterious Picture Book Len” (Douwa to Fushigi na Ehon Len) -SSR+

Art by ピスケ(Pisuke)

Skill: “Handbook” of the Dark Forest

「迅雷双槍兵 鏡音レン」/ “Twin Spearman of Thunder Kagamine Len” (Jinrai Souyari-hei Kagamine Len) -SSR+

Art by ピスケ(Pisuke)

Skill: “Dual Thunderclap Spears”

「新緑のメロディー」/ “Melody of Fresh Green Leaves” (Shinryoku no Merodii)

Art by コソラ (Kosora)

Skill: “Recovery of Fresh Green Leaves”

Now for info about the Guild Battles! During this time, you and your guild can fight against enemies together and earn Guild Medals to trade in for super cool clothing items and accessories for your character, as well as building materials, Mikucoins and gacha tickets. This is where you can use that Len-heavy deck and bash those baddies with friends!

Anyone who joins in with the Guild Battles can get these event-exclusive items, plus a cute Guild-stamp too!

New packs to buy in the store

Oh, and if you feel like you need a bit of extra help with the gacha I mentioned before, there are new packs to buy in store too (which you pay for with real-life money though, of course).

-39 Mikucoins

-91 Mikucoins (Buy 49, get 42 free!)

-4 gacha tickets

Note: The above three packs can be bought up to three times each.

Don’t worry, not everything is about our banana-boy Len! If you go on an exploration in the Tanuki Village Shrine area, you’ll have the potential to find one of these awesome cards:

「バイクツーリング☆ミク」/ “Bike Touring ☆ Miku” (Baiku Tsuuringu Miku) -SSR

Art by U井T吾

Doing explorations will cost you stamina, but it’s definitely worthwhile if you manage to get hold of the card!

Good luck everyone~! That’s all the news I have for now though, so thank you for reading ~☆

Sakura Miku x Animate Café 2020 Menu Items – The Big Reveal~!

I’ve been excited about this particular café collabo for a while, and now I can finally show you what the final menu for it looks like – including real-life examples of the food! Can’t wait to see? Well let’s check it out then!

(For more information about the café, as well as the menu item competition from last year, check out these links):

Café Information

Menu Item Design Competition

-On the first menu sheet, we can see  ぐるくま ‘s (Gurukuma’s) “Sakura Miku O-Hanami Bento”, and we can see that it contains white rice and scrambled egg, “Sakura Denpu” (pink fish floss, which is finely shredded, seasoned fish which is coloured pink, wieners in the shape of octopuses, cheese, tomato, vegetable-filled tamagoyaki (rolled omelette), karaage (deep fried) chicken, lettuce, ham and edamame beans! As shown in the image, the bento comes in a pretty little box, and the lid has one of the official cafe collaboration illustrations on it! – ¥1,000 (all prices include tax). (Art by 芳野サク)

-Next is the adaptation of Zuu‘s “Sakura Miku Full Bloom Chazuke”! This one certainly looks fancy, and it consists of white rice, salmon, salmon flakes, “Yurine” (or “lily bulb”, an edible bulb which is said to be crunchy and sweet), spring onion, “Shibazuke” (Kyoto- style chopped vegetables, pickled in salt with red shiso leaves) and tea. As well as this, there is salt pickled sakura in a small dish, as well as dashi (a japanese soup stock), nori (seaweed) and “arare” (roasted mochi pieces). You’ll pour the tea over the rice to finish preparing this delicious dish! – ¥1,100

-Third Down the menu is the “Miku-san Green Soba”, originally designed by キノ (Kino)! Here we have “Cha-soba” (buckwheat soba noodles infused with green tea), spring onion, wakame (a softer type of seaweed) and “Yaki Kama” (grilled fish collar). It also appears to have an edible (?) motif of Miku on top! – ¥1,000

-The final item on this page is the perfectly recreated “Meiko Burger”, designed by  夜明ほしこ (Yoake Hoshiko). It’s a cheeseburger with a red-coloured bun and a Meiko flag on top! There are also potato wedges and lettuce on the side, as well as Meiko’s name written in ketchup on the plate. – ¥1,000

-Up next is “Luka’s Seafood Plate” from ふぇーりす (Felis)! For this you can expect seafood “tarako” pasta (“tarako” meaning cod roe), tuna on bruschetta bread, clam chowder and lettuce. A must-try for seafood fans at ¥1,100.

-Kagamine-themed sandwiches anyone?  ヤマネ (Yamane) designed the “Rin and Len Getting-Along Picnic Combo”, with two types of sandwiches: one egg one and one peach filled one! Furthermore, there is also lettuce, carrots, pineapple and orange on the side, as well as a “monaka” – a wafer cake filled with azuki (red bean) jam! – ¥1,000

-Next come the desserts! The “Sakura Miku Dual Coloured Parfaits” from  7:24 look stunning! They both contain “kanten” (agar-agar gelatin), whipped cream, matcha whipped cream, cookies, chocolate, cornflakes and three-colour dango (small rice flour dumpling) sticks. One has strawberry ice cream, and one has matcha ice cream, so choose your favourite! – ¥850 per parfait.

-Our second dessert is an interesting one, as it’s a dish inspired by  かしゅー ‘s (Kashuu’s) “Mochimochi Shiratama ZenZai” and  へこぽん ‘s (Hekopon’s)  “Sakura Miku Fuwa Fuwa Hidden Home Dorayaki”. There’s a tiny cute dorayaki with a cherry inside and “shiratama anmitsu” (shiratama are rice flour dumplings, while anmitsu is typically a combination of bean jam, agar cubes, boiled beans, fruit pieces and syrup). There is also a tiny sakura mochi, as well as a sakura-shaped “nerikiri” (a sweet made from azuki paste wrapped in a layer of white bean paste mixed with mochi, which can be made into pretty shapes!), whipped cream and sakura sauce. – ¥850

-That brings us to the final dessert item; this one is a mixture of the designs by リーフ (riifu) and  恢斗(Kaito), with the “Kaito’s Highly Recommended Ice Cream Waffles!” As the name suggests, we have waffles, blueberry and mango sauce, ramune (lemon/lime soda) ice cream, an ice cream cone, a soybean sheet, another “monaka”, whipped cream, powdered sugar and “arazan” (silver dragees). – ¥850

-And on the last menu, we have… the drinks! In the top left, we have a “Sakura Miku Soda” based on the designs by 水っぽいスープ  (Koorippoi Soup) and うごちゃん (Ugochan). It has sakura syrup, soda, peach jelly, and cherries inside! The drink costs ¥650, but if you’d like to keep the souvenir bottle, you’ll have to pay an extra ¥1,100 on top of that.

-On the right hand side is our first hot drink – the “O-Hanami Amazake Milk Tea”, designed by  ia. Inside is amazake (a non alcoholic type of drink) and milk, sakura syrup and strawberry syrup with whipped cream on top and salt pickled sakura. – ¥600.

– R_pro_09‘s “Sakura Miku Miku Mi-cream Soda” looks amazing, especially with the Miku twin tails (presumably made from paper or card, and attached with toothpicks). Inside is melon soda, with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, a cherry on top and monaka. – ¥600

-Fans of Meiko might want to try the “Meiko’s Sangria-like Cranberry Juice” for ¥600, which contains cranberry juice and mixed berries! (Design by 茶だんご (Chadango)).

-One of the most impressive drinks here would definitely be the “Attakappuccino”, designed by 氷菓子(カナ). I’s a cappuccino but with an edible film with an image of Kaito’s coat on it! I definitely want to try it… – ¥600

-For Rin and Len we have the “Kirakira” drinks, based on the original design by あみる (Amiru). Rin’s one has orange juice, orange jelly, real pieces of orange, while Len’s on the other hand has pineapple soda, pineapple, real pieces of pineapple. Both have whipped cream, chocolate and sprinkles though! It’s kind of weird that they chose pineapple for Len though. I wish they’d done something banana related. – ¥600 each.

-Last but by no means least, we have the decadent- looking “Luka’s Iced Ichigo-Ore”. It has milk, strawberry syrup, strawberries, whipped cream and chocolate sauce on top! アメタコ (Ametako) did an amazing job with designing it too!

But hold on a minute, that’s not all I have for you!

For every order, you’ll get one of these coasters!

Each one uses one of the official illustrations for the collaboration! Remember that you get them randomly, so you won’t get to choose. They’re all super cute though, so this shouldn’t matter too much.

And if you were upset that our other Piapro friends didn’t get coasters – you’re in luck!

“Coaster Present Campaign”

All promotional art is by 芳野サク, 綿 / Men (Attaka Taoru Men), さくらしおり (Sakura Shiori), 福きつね (Fuku Kitsune), Naoto, つるしまたつみ / Tsurushima Tatsumi and 猫魚 /Neko Sakana respectively.

If you spend at least ¥2,000 on food, drinks and merchandise (for information about merch, check out my newer article here), then you’ll receive one of these special coasters too! Again, these will be given out randomly, so you can’t choose which one you want.

Ahh, isn’t it all so exciting? Make sure you check out my previous related articles to find out more information about the café locations, and compare the final menu items to their original designs. I’m slightly disappointed that we didn’t get a Rin-themed dessert, but there’s still lots of exciting food to try out, so I’m definitely happy nonetheless.

Thanks for reading!

Snow Miku – Mikufest Event in Mikucolle (Part 3)

Hello Mikucolle players! I’m here to show you the next part of the Snow Miku – Mikufest event, including all of the new updates there have been. If you’re curious about what has happened previously, you can read my previous two articles here: (Part 1 /and/ Part 2).

Okay, so let’s dive in!

Our newest opening image, featuring the art of まろ (Maro) and tokki respectively.

When you log in now, you’ll get to see a joyous Melopi:

So what is going on in this leg of the event? Well, you’re still able to get 3 Mikucoins for logging in, so make sure to grab them every day! As for the other stuff going on…

1.New gacha

Our new gacha for the event are as follows:

-The top banner shows our first gacha, in which we have three options. The first one on the left is one pull only, and it costs 3 Mikucoins. You can do this one once a day. The middle one is a one pull gacha too, but you can play it as many times per day as you like. This one costs 5 Mikucoins per pull. (If you have a regular golden gacha ticket, you can use that for one pull too). Next we have the third option, which gives you 10 cards plus one extra, so it’s the best value for money. You should get at least one SSR with this gacha, and it costs 50 Mikucoins.

-The second one you can see is the free gacha! With this one, you’ll be able to do the equivalent of a 10 + 1 pulls gacha without paying anything. This gacha will disappear from the page once used, leaving the other four event gacha behind.

-For the third gacha down, you’ll need to use special gacha tickets instead of Mikucoins. You only get one pull, but there’s a high probability for an SSR+. I’ll explain how to get these tickets in a little while.

-The final gacha is linked to the new quests available! Here, you need to collect 100 tickets for 1 pull, or 1000 tickets for a 10 + 1 pull. In this gacha you also have the chance to get this event – limited card:

「みに雪ミク2020」/ “Mini Snow Miku 2020” – SSR

Art by はねこと (Hanekoto)

Skill: The Winter Night is Quiet

But just HOW do you get these tickets? Well let me show you~

2. New “Advance! Mikucolle Exploration Team” Quest available to play!

With this quest, each time you clear a level, you’ll get a certain amount of tickets which you can use in the aforementioned gacha. The more levels you clear, the more difficult the levels become, and the more tickets you get! You’ll also receive challenge medals which can be exchanged for cool items in the shop.

3. Ranking

Similar to the second part of this event from before, your scores that you get from each level in the Exploration Team quest will be used to place you on a leaderboard. The highest score you get when you clear a level is what they’ll use to place you. If your score is high enough (in the top 100 of players), you might have the chance to get this special limited card:

「静かな雪の夜」/ “Quiet Winter’s Night” – SSR+

Art by MACCO

4. Special Packs to buy in- store

And as always, we have the special packs available to buy, which can allow you to partake in one of the two gacha I mentioned earlier!

-225 Mikucoins (Buy 100, get 125 free).

-106 Mikucoins (Buy 49, get 57 free!)

-One “No less than SSR” Star gacha ticket (for the second gacha requiring tickets that I mentioned).

I think that wraps up our Mikufest in Mikucolle coverage for now. Make sure to try your luck at the gacha if you get a chance, since the event is on until February 25th (JST).

Celebrate Our Beloved Kaito’s Birthday In Mikucolle!

Following on from Megurine Luka’s birthday event in Mikucolle (which I covered recently here), we also have a cute Kaito event available!

1. Free Mikucoins upon logging in

(Opening screen, art by サワシ)

Until February 17th (13:59 JST), you can get free Mikucoins just by logging in! If you haven’t already checked the app, it’d be a good idea to check it out quickly to make use of the offer (I know I needed those coins… ).

2. Special Kaito Gacha!

Three Kaito gacha have been created especially for his birthday! So let’s take a look at them quickly:

-With the first banner at the top, we have a gacha which requires 100 Mikucoins for a 10+ 1 extra gacha pull. You’re guaranteed at least one SSR+ from it, and all cards come with max rank and max level! I’d assume that this gacha is so expensive because the rate for SSR+ here is 5%, which is 4% higher than the next gacha.

-In our second gacha we have three options. The first one on the left is one pull only, and it costs 3 Mikucoins. You can do this one once a day. The middle one is a one pull gacha too, but you can play it as many times per day as you like. This one costs 5 Mikucoins per pull. Next we have the third option, which gives you 10 cards plus one extra, so it’s the best value for money. You should get at least one SSR with this gacha, and it costs 50 Mikucoins.

-The final gacha available is a free one. You can have one whole go at the full gacha without paying! And I must admit, I got a reaaally good pull from this one:

Special cards available include:

「祝歌の使者 KAITO」/”Iwai-uta no shisha KAITO” (Messenger of Festive Song KAITO) -SSR+

「和ロック☆KAITO」/ “Wa-rokku KAITO” (Japanese-style Rock KAITO) – SSR+

サファイアと慈愛の輝き」/”Saffaia to Jiai no Kagayaki” (Radiance of Sapphires and Affection) – SSR+

Skill: 祝福のサフェイロス “Blessing of Sappheiros”

3. Special Kaito packs available to buy!

Then we have the new packs available in the shop!

Pack 1. KAITO Birthday Pack 10000 – ¥10000 ($90 USD/£70)

-225 Mikucoins (Buy 100, get 125 free!)

– One Kaito “bodyguard”

Pack 2. KAITO Birthday Pack 4900 – ¥4900 ($44 USD/£34)

-106 Mikucoins (Buy 49, get 57 free!

-One Kaito “assistance team”

Although it might not look like much, a special gacha or three is always fun to play, especially when celebrating one of our favourite Vocaloid’s birthdays! Good luck with your Gacha pulls everyone! And make sure to check out the event before February 17th (13:59 JST)!
