Hatsune Miku and the gang are at Yomiuri Land Amusement Park this month!

It’s something I wouldn’t have expected to happen, but Hatsune Miku and her gaggle of friends will be helping out at Yomiuri Land, an amusement park in Tokyo!

The illustration for this collaboration was created by ๅทฆ (hidari) , who also drew the original designs for Vocaloids Mayu and Akikoloid-chan!

I also remember posting about the theme song for Yomiuri Land’s Vocaloid collaboration on our Facebook page a while back! Here it is again, “Positive Parade” featuring Hatsune Miku, by DECO*27.

Music: DECO*27

Arrangement: Rockwell

Chorus: ใ—ใป

Illustration: ๅ…ซไธ‰

So while you’re walking around the theme park, you’ll even be able to listen to Miku singing!

As well as this, there have been official collaboration goods produced for the event, AND a collaboration cafe.

In the top left are designs for trading acrylic badges for ยฅ600 (about ยฃ4 GBP / $5 USD) each! Designed by ๅทฆ (hidari) (the ones on the left XD) and ๆœจไธŠใใฎใ“ (Kiue Kinoko) (on the right) come blind, so it might take a while to get the one you want.

Next to them is a design for a type of hoodie, but no information about this has been released yet (I’ll update this article when we find out more).

And at the bottom of the image are the “Colour Parade” gummy sweets. There are two types of boxes, and both have three types of flavoured sweets:

The green ones are muscat grape, the orange ones are… well… orange flavour, and the yellow ones are lemon flavour! There are four individually wrapped gummies of each flavour in the box. The box has Rin, Len and Miku on it, and each coloured sweet is supposed to represent a character!

(I’d like to note that there is also “Kodomo Gumi” written on the box, implying that these sweets are aimed towards kids. Obviously, we all want some anyway though).

In the second box, there are the “adult” sweets, including Luka, Kaito and Meiko themed ones, with the pink ones tasting like peach, the red ones like apples and the blue ones like soda (lemon and lime).

Within each box, you also get a randomly selected sticker of one of the characters on the outside of the box!

There are also super cool can badges available with the same illustrations:

These cost ยฅ660 (about ยฃ5 GBP / $6 USD), but you can actually choose which one you want, rather than them being blind bagged.

The acrylic keyrings will set you back by ยฅ1100 (about ยฃ8 GBP / $10 USD) if you by the ones by ๅทฆ (hidari), and ยฅ990 (about ยฃ7 GBP / $9 USD) if you choose to buy the acrylic stand keyrings by ๆœจไธŠใใฎใ“ .

For anyone with walls that need extra vocaloid fanciness, the B2 tapestry is the way to go, for ยฅ3300 (about ยฃ23 GBP / $30 USD)

If you collect clear files obsessively (like me), you’ll certainly be interested in the two clear file sets, one for each commissioned artist:

Each set is worth ยฅ1650 (about ยฃ11 GBP / $15 USD).

Some of the most unique items are the “Chekki”- style cards sets! Chekki are usually the type of photos you get with a polaroid at a maid cafe, but here you can get “signed” ones from your favourite Cryptonloids! Each set is ยฅ660, so pretty affordable overall.

If you’re a fan of postcards, there will also be a postcard set available for ยฅ1320 (about ยฃ9 GBP / $12 USD). And that’s for all of these:

Another edible piece of merchandise would be the “Collaboration Chocolate Crunch”, a box containing milk chocolate, white chocolate and strawberry flavoured crunchy ball sweets. This set costs ยฅ1080 altogether (about ยฃ7 GBP / $9 USD), and will contain one random sticker from the selection shown.

But it’s not over yet…it’s been said that visitors who try their luck at the “Bungee Jump Challenge” could be in for getting one of these really cool badges too!

As of today, there has also been information about an interesting “deluxe novelty” design for the tickets for the event:

It all looks like so much fun. We have a few tweets showing how the attractions look like after their Vocaloid-makeover-

The ferris wheel :

The “Merry Go Landdog” (I guess it’s called that because there are dogs that you… ride?)

Goodsmile Racing is also going to have a mini collaboration with Yomiuri Land’s “Go kart Family Course”:

One of the other highlights of the event will be the Hatsune Miku x Sea Lion show! The sea lions are said to be dancing to the aforementioned Yomiuri Land x Hatsune Miku theme song!

Oh, and you know the collabo cafe I mentioned earlier?

Here are the menu items! There will be the so called “pancake sandwich” and bubble tea drinks available!

Patrons will also be able to try out the two new games, “Project Sekai” and “Mega 39’s” in the Aurora exhibition space here. Make sure to check them out if you go!

The event will begin on the 15th February, and end on the 15th March 2020! Visitors young and old are sure to have a great time. For ticket prices, see the end of the post!

I think that’s everything for now. Thank you for reading ^^;.

These sets were first announced in December 2019, but seeing as Valentine’s day is just around the corner, I’m sure plenty of people will be rushedly buying them in preparation for the 14th February.

They can all still be bought from the Premium Bandai online store, and no doubt there’ll be another installment of fancy Miku chocolates released next year too.

I personally wish they’d have Valentine’s sets for the other Cryptonloids too… ahh, they’d be cute as well!

Anyway, that wraps up our Vocaloid- related Valentine’s product news! Thank you for reading.

Snow Miku 2020 x Lawson Collabo Info

Lawson‘s official Twitter recently announced news about their yearly collaboration with Snow Miku and Rabbit Yukine! As you can see, we have an adorable illustration of Miku in the Lawson staff uniform:

Art by: ๆ —ๆ – ๆญณ (Kurisu Toshi)

Visitors to Lawson stores in Hokkaido will be able to check out the four collaboration food items available:

In the top left we have the so-called “Snow Miku Bacon Deliciousness! Creamy pasta (ยฅ499/ยฅ539 with tax).

With our second item, we have some biiiig onigiri (rice balls), filled with spring onion and salted pork rib meat! (ยฅ221/ยฅ239 with tax)

For our third takeaway item there is the “Snow Miku White Round Bun” (similar to “nikuman”, a type of flour bun filled with ground meat) – (ยฅ176/ยฅ190 with tax).

Lastly is the adorable “Snow Miku Fluffy Chiffon Cake”, using Hokkaido fresh cream which melts in your mouth, as well as powdered sugar on top (ยฅ176/ยฅ190 with tax)

They all look super good, and we also have photos of what they look like in real life! Even Vocaloid producer BIGHEAD has checked out how Snow Miku has “taken over” a Hokkaido Lawson store:

Furthermore, it seems that Lawson will be selling official Snow Miku 2020 merchandise!

These items should be stocked in all Lawson stores in Hokkaido, but availability is limited. All prices include tax. (The numbered shop list will be shown at the end of the article!)

First up is the Snow Miku Snow Parade Ver. Plushie by GIFT, ยฅ4,400 (about ยฃ31 GBP / $40 USD)

Then there’s the complete set of clear files (and a special book-shaped storage case for them) on the right for ยฅ3,900 (about ยฃ28 /$36). Artists (Top row, from left to right: ใฏใญใ“ใจ (Hanekoto) x2, KEI, ใƒ”ใ‚นใ‚ฑ(Pisuke) and MACCO. Bottom row: soๅ“ (sohin), ใƒชใ‚บ (Rizu) and ใชใ˜ใ‚‡ (Najo).

The rubber strap collection is so adorable, and one will cost ยฅ700 (about ยฃ5 / $6). (Each strap you get is random) (Art by ใƒชใ‚บ -Rizu).

On the right you can see the “Tsumamare” keychain of Snow Miku for  ยฅ600 (about ยฃ4 / $5). (This term is used to describe when the art shows a pinched, dangling character in this style). (Art by ใกใจ – Tito)

Third down from the left is the 3D acrylic stand of Snow Miku for  ยฅ2,750 (about ยฃ20 / $25)

Next we have a set of keyrings with the Piapro characters inside snow-globe looking domes, and the set will cost ยฅ1,100 (about ยฃ8 / $10 ).

The die-cut sticker set of Miku is also  ยฅ1,000, and it includes three of the official Snow Miku 2020 designs!

Our eighth item in this section is the Nendoroid Plus Trading Rubber Keyrings, all of which feature Miku. One of these will cost ยฅ600 (ยฃ4 / $5), but they will most likely be blind boxed / blind bagged, so you won’t know which you’ll get.

Finally for this section, we have the CD of “Planet Traveller feat. Hatsune Miku”, containing the designated theme song for the Snow Miku 2020 celebration “Cozy Planet”, as well as nine other songs. The album is ยฅ2,200 altogether (ยฃ15 / $20).

The following items are available in stores numbered 1 ~ 40 in their Hokkaido shop list:

Rabbit Yukine Plush Strap : ยฅ3,900 (ยฃ27 / $36)

Card sleeve Sets (A) and (B) are ยฅ1,650 each (ยฃ11 / $15), and are used to keep collectible cards from being damaged.

There is also one B2 tapestry from Hanekoto and one from KEI, each being ยฅ3,000 (ยฃ20 / $27).

A new item included is the adorable muffler scarf with music notes on it for ยฅ4,000 (ยฃ28 / $36).

The bag charm is ยฅ1,760 (ยฃ12 / $16) , and has a small musical instrument on it!

The super cute face towel is ยฅ 1,600 (ยฃ11 / $14). (Art by ใชใ˜ใ‚‡ (Najo).

The next two items are “O-mamori” (small charms which are most commonly used for bringing good luck), as well as the large shopping bag, and both items cost ยฅ1,100.

The next products are only available in stores numbered 1 and 2 on this list.

Here we have the Hanekoto- and Bisuke- illustration luggage tags for ยฅ1,100 each.

Another interesting item included is the “Snow Miku 2020 Number Plate”, for a reasonable ยฅ3,300 (ยฃ23 / $30). It’s recommended for use as a piece of interior decoration…apparently.

A pretty cute acrylic clock for ยฅ3,000 (ยฃ21 / $27) is also available, so Miku can help you to tell the time.

For ยฅ3,100 (ยฃ21 /$28) you can get a little waist pouch with all of the Snow Cryptonloids!

Popular in recent times, a smartphone ring with Miku on it is being sold for ยฅ1,400 (ยฃ10 /$12).

Particularly fetching is this Yukine shaped pouch which you can use to store small electronic devices, headphones…and whatever else you can fit in it! (ยฅ2,100, ยฃ15 , $19).

Last but certainly not least, here are the items which are exclusive to Lawson’s main Snow Miku collaboration store

In the top left and right are the portable chargers, with the first one showcasing Hanekoto and Bisuke’s art, and the other having KEI and MACCO’s art.

My personal favourite item, the Snow Miku 2020 “hanten” (a winter version of a happi), will cost you ยฅ11,000 (ยฃ77 / $100). (Art by KEI)

And to round up Lawson’s items, they’ll be selling the Full Graphic Snow Miku T Shirt (in sizes M, L and XL) for ยฅ6,600 each.

Snow Miku goods will continue to be sold until the 26th February 2020, so make sure not to miss out! Keep reading to find useful links, plus the numbered directory for Lawson stores in Hokkaido (including the main store which is decorated for the Snow Miku event!). This Year’s Sakura Miku Cafe Menu Item Designs

You’re most probably here because of the excitement I have surrounding the Sakura Miku Cafe in March and April… and I’m here to tell you all about the results for Piapro’s competition to design menu items for the Collabo with Animate Cafe .

So here are the winners:

In no particular order, first up we have 7:24 , with their “Sakura Miku Dual Coloured Parfait”! It’s supposed to contain matcha or sakura ice cream, small leaf shaped cookies (or senbei), hanami style dango, matcha mousse, yogurt mousse, matcha / sakura agar jelly cubes and sakura shaped agar!

Next (on the right) is ia, with the “Amazake Milk Tea”, containing amazake (a non alcoholic type of drink), black tea, milk, a small sakura blossom and whipped cream!

Third up is R_pro_09, with the “Sakura Miku Miku Mi-Cream Soda”. It’s drawn containing blue soda, a vanilla ice cream “Miku” and strawberry -, white- and milk chocolate for her accessories. They even drew a little coaster design too!

Zuu has designed a rather cute “Sakura Miku Full Bloom Chazuke”. Inside it are supposed to be small pieces of spring onion, fried onigiri, salmon flakes and sakura shaped “kamaboko” (cute, cylindrically shaped fish paste made for soups).

My favourite menu item so far would be the “Rin-chan Kirakira Orange Juice”, by ใ‚ใฟใ‚‹ (Amiru). It has orange jelly, orange soda, star shaped “nata de coco”, frozen mango, canned mikan (a citrus fruit similar to an orange), square pieces of apple, all topped off with vanilla ice cream and sprinkles.

Our first design for Luka is the “Luka’s Warabimochi Ichigo Ore”, with strawberry flavoured milk and warabimochi (bracken starch dumpling, which sort of looks like jelly), chocolate sauce and Luka’s number as a chocolate decoration. Thanks to ใ‚ขใƒกใ‚ฟใ‚ณ (Ametako) for that!

ใ†ใ”ใกใ‚ƒใ‚“ (Ugochan) designed a “Sakura Miku Soda”, with vanilla ice cream, sakura soda, agar jelly and sakura warabimochi.

The “Mochimochi Shiratama ZenZai” is a zenzai (soup made from azuki) with flavoured rice flour dumplings, mint, red bean paste and sakura flavoured sauce, drawn by ใ‹ใ—ใ‚…ใƒผ (Kashuu)

ใ‚ญใƒŽ (Kino) drew an adorable pairing of the “Rin-chan Amber Annin” (with apricot pudding, chocolate, mint and mango sauce) and the “Miku-san Green Soba”. The latter is designed with matcha soba noodles, Miku motif kamaboko, spring onion and wakame seaweed… all in a special Miku bowl!

A particularly cute design was made by ใใ‚‹ใใพ (Gurukuma) the “Sakura Miku O-Hanami Bento”, with its sakura and egg flavoured rice, weiners in the shape of octopuses, and tamagoyaki (rolled omelette).

ใตใ‡ใƒผใ‚Šใ™ (Felis) has created the “Luka’s Seafood Plate”, including an octopus salad, mentaiko pasta (mentaiko is a type of pollock roe usually seen in paste form), wakame and egg soup.

From ใธใ“ใฝใ‚“ (Hekopon) we have the “Sakura Miku Fuwa Fuwa Hidden Home Dorayaki”, a tiny pancake with fresh cream, ankou and “gyuuhi” (a confectionary similar to turkish delight).

Another favourite of mine is the “Rin and Len Getting Along Picnic Combo” by ใƒคใƒžใƒ (Yamane)… especially because of the name. There are sandwiches with a potato salad filling, some with cream cheese and marmalade inside, as well as potato cut into star shapes, and an egg salad on the side. Don’t forget about the cute motifs on top of the sandwiches (which are attached with toothpicks!).

ใƒชใƒผใƒ• (riifu) designed a “mysterious but cute” Kaito-themed ice cream float, with a mini cone on top and sparkles inside. They’ve even added a little sparkly gummy scarf onto the ice cream!

Some really cute waffles have been drawn by ๆขๆ–—(Kaito), with chocolate, mango sauce and vanilla ice cream. A stack of triangular waffles with a chocolate flakes… count me in!

ๆฐดใฃใฝใ„ใ‚นใƒผใƒ— (Koorippoi Soup) wants some pink sakura style drinks with special pink cups at the cafe! The best part is that even when the drink has been finished, the cup still looks really pretty, especially with the cherry blossom motifs on the outside.

An interesting idea for a Meiko themed drink came from ่Œถใ ใ‚“ใ” (Chadango), with their “Meiko’s Sangria Style Cranberry Juice”.

ๆฐท่“ๅญ๏ผˆใ‚ซใƒŠ) (Koori Okashi -Kana/Aisu) has a particularly cute idea for a Kaito themed cappuccino, with the “Attakappuccino”, which has the design of Kaito’s coat on top of it!

And last but not least… a design for the “Meiko Coloured Burger”, with tomato, white cheese, onion, and Meiko written in Ketchup! (Drawn by ๅคœๆ˜Žใปใ—ใ“ (Yoake Hoshiko).

(All winning entries can be seen properly on the Piapro blog).

Wow… that’s A LOT of potential menu items! Which one do you think you’d like best?

(Update: to see how amazing the menu items look like in real life, you can read my article here!)

And if you’d like to learn more about the Sakura Miku collabo cafe this year, you can read all about it in my main article here. If merchandise is what you’re interested in, you can learn about the cafรฉ collaboration goods here!

That’s all the news we have on the Sakura Miku x Goodsmile Company x Animate Cafe collabo for now!

Otomachi Una’s “Hamamatsu! Otomachi! Una walk โ™ช” event is set for March 1st!

On the first of March 2020, the aptly titled “Hamamatsu! Otomachi! Una walk โ™ช” event will be held, and it definitely looks like fun! As stated in our first article of the event, this is the latest collaboration project between Una and the Tenryu Hamanako Railroad Company!

It functions like a type of scavenger hunt / trail walk, where you follow a specific course route throughout Shizuoka, all the way to the finish. But don’t worry, all of that exercise isn’t in vain – there are prizes up for grabs if you complete the course too.

The course begins at “Tenryu-hama-nako Railway : Miyaguchi Station (okay, that was a mouthfulโ€ฆ).

Registry for the event will occur between 8:30 and 11AM (JST). Participation is free, so once you’ve got your map, it’ll be time to start!

During the course, you’ll follow the trail through to these areas, all situated within Shizuoka :

Fudoji temple

Manyonomori park

NICOE Theme Park

[At NICOE, if you present your course map, you should be able to join in with some taste testing of freshly made yakiimo (baked sweet potato, a popular type of street food in Japan). Ahh..I’m hungry just thinking about itโ€ฆ]

MTK head office

[Here is where the prizes come in! If you present your course map to staff, you’ll be able to receive an adorable A4 clear file of Una, who’s happily wearing her super fancy train – driving attire, as well as a can badge (you can one of the two shown in the image above). ]

Next will be the final stop, “Enshuu Railway : Saginomiya Station!” The course is about 11 kilometres altogether, and should take roughly two and a half hours to complete.

The badges shown are limited to this event only, so make sure to join in if you can to get the exclusive merch! Just make sure to keep hold of your course map at all times, and complete the trail quickly to avoid missing out.

Sounds pretty cool right? It might consist of a lot of travelling, but it’ll be fun nonetheless.

That’s all we know for now! I really want those can badges myself… But good luck to everyone who participates!

VocaSphere Needs Help!

Don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere. But we do need help bringing VOCALOID and other vocal synth content to the west! Our staff is relatively small and vocal synth news is in abundance. We need help from more vocal synth lovers to bring that love to as many people as possible.

Not sure how you could help? Here’s a few different “positions” to help kick start your ideas:

Proofreader: We’re always in need of more proofreaders to help make sure we’re releasing articles that are typo-free and well formatted.

Facebook Content Creator: If you follow vocal synth music or artists, we always need more people to help highlight the community works on our Facebook page.

Article Author: Even if you just have an undying passion for a single vocal synth character and want to cover all the news regarding only that character, you’re more than welcome to! You can be the resident expert on any character, company, or even merchandise! (Please note that we already have a lovely author who works on all Medium5 content)

Of course, you’re not limited to just these roles, and you’re not limited so a single role, either. VocaSphere is all about enjoying this amazing community in whatever way you want to and never pressuring anyone to take on more than they can handle.

Japanese Man Reacts to Hatsune Miku Videos and It’s Amazing

This Japanese man just found Miku and is reacting to music videos suggested by fans. His reations are perfect!

One would think that anyone from Japan would be very familiar with the twin tailed virtual singer Hatsune Miku by now. She seems to exist on every level of Japanese pop culture from live concerts, commercials, products, and having her face all over Sapporo every February. While folks in the west can avoid Miku a bit more easily, you’d think most people in Japan would be rather familiar with Miku and already have their opinions on her.

Well meet Young Student Mako on Youtube. Much like many other students, he put Spotify on while studying and let it run free. Until then, he hadn’t really heard anything from Miku. But Spotify decided he needed more of her in his life.

In his first reaction video, he admits to only knowing a limited list of songs.

I basically only know Romeo and Cinderella, World End Dancehall, The world is Mine, Disappearance of Hatsune Miku, Aikotoba, Sinbonzakura [sic] Ray …. and some songs from Mikunopolis 2014.

Since he has some free time and is interested in Miku, Mako figured he’d ask Miku fans for recommendations on what music videos he should watch. And people are definitely all for sharing their favorite Miku songs with Mako!

His newest reaction video is a reaction to Time Machine where the fandom has finally got him on the feels train. (Note there is some strong language)

When the video starts, he states that he hopes the song doesn’t touch too many feelings or else he might cry. Welcome to the VOCALOID fandom, Mako. Where there’s enough feels to make everyone cry. There’s at least one feels punching song for everyone.

Mako has also reacted to other songs that are a lot brighter such as Luckyโ˜†Orb, which he absolutely loves.

He says it should be played in the 2020 Olympics. Someone who’s just entered the fandom thinks Miku should sing in the Olympics. Clearly it must be done.

You can find more of Mako on his Youtube channel where he uploads reaction videos rather frequently. You can also follow him on Twitter. Be sure to suggest your favorite VOCALOID songs to him and check out his other reaction videos!
