A new collaboration been announced for Hatsune Miku! This time, it’s with Chiba Urban Monorail and introduces the “URBAN FLYER x Hatsune Miku” illustration by 黒獅子 / Kurojishi!

Merchandise featuring URBAN FLYER x Hatsune Miku will be available at Magical Mirai 2019. The following have been announced:

MIKU FLYER-Evo. Monorail

Starting in July, the new railcar called the MIKU FLYER-Evo. will begin service! Car 007-008 will be decorated with the Piapro characters and the Magical Mirai 2019 logo. Even the interior hand straps will reportedly have the Piapro character illustrations on them! What’s more, an arrangement of the Magical Mirai 2019 theme song, Bless Your Breath, will be playing for passengers to enjoy!

The MIKU FLYER-Evo. monorail will be in service from July 1 through October 31 in Chiba. Its timetable can be found here.

Life-size Panel Displays of Miku

Finally, four different types of life-size panel displays of Miku will be placed at four different station locations! Visitors will be able to freely take pictures with them. The locations are the Chibaminato Station, the Chiba Station, the Tsuga Station, and the Chishirodai Station.

Thomas Debuts in #COMPASS

#COMPASS (COMbat Providence AnalysiS System) had an update today with a new playable Hero debuting. Introducing Thomas, the butler!

Thomas is a Tank-type hero whose design was the winning entry in the Hero Design Contest 2nd in 2018. According to his bio, he is a butler who has set out in search of his runaway master, and carries around two magical trunk cases that he uses to fight.

Below, you can watch his trailer with his theme song, “アブソリュート / Absolute” by YASUHIRO playing in the background. Full versions and PVs of the character theme songs are usually uploaded after the character has been available in the game for a few weeks, so look forward to that at a future date!

Hatsune Miku Notebook PCs from TSUKUMO Available for Pre-Order

TSUKUMO is teaming up with Hatsune Miku again to bring us a pair of notebook PCs featuring the digital diva!

Dell x Hatsune Miku Notebook PC

The first PC is the Dell Inspiron 13 5370, featuring an illustration by LEN[A-7] of (a giant) Miku at the TSUKUMO store in Akihabara! It comes with a pink champagne or silver cover, and will be released on July 12 for ￥116,640 JPY (tax included). Find the product page here.

Acer x Hatsune Miku Notebook PC

Next comes the Acer SF314-56-A58U/MIKU, featuring a very sporty-looking Miku illustration by あごなすび / agonasubi! They even show us the concept art.

The Acer PC costs ¥127,440 (tax included), and is also scheduled for released on July 12. You can pre-order it on its product page here.

GUMI’s 10th Anniversary Page Open, Song Contest Announced

It is now June 26, 2019, which is GUMI’s 10th anniversary! Now open is her official Megpoid 2019 anniversary page looking back on her product history, videos featuring her on Niconico, her recent 10th anniversary music releases, and more. There are also lots of new content and announcements that we will outline below!

Message from Megumi Nakajima

Now on YouTube is a message from GUMI’s voice provider, Megumi Nakajima, thanking fans for ten years of music, illustrations, and more for GUMI, not just from Japan, but from around the world. She then expresses how she looks forward to continued support for GUMI well into her second decade with us as well!

Game Collaborations

Starting today, we get two new arcade game collaborations with GUMI from Konami!

The first is with Sound Voltex Vivid Wave, where a birthday party for GUMI featuring two of her songs is now taking place. The songs are “ラクガキスト / Rakugakist” by cosMo, and 十面相 / Juu Mensou (Ten-Faced) by YM!

Another collaboration is also taking place in NOSTALGIA, where the “GUMI 10th Anniversary Island” is now available! In this mode, players can collect stamps to unlock three songs:
1. 幻想系世界修復少女 / Gensoukei Sekai Shuufuku Shoujo (Fantasy World Repair Girl) by Last Note.
2. バンブーソード・ガール / Bamboo Sword Girl by cosMo
3. Idola by iconoclasm

10th Anniversary Goods

The first round of GUMI 10th anniversary collaboration goods with GraffArt is now open at select stores, and the second round will be starting on July 6! For more information, see our previous reports on the first round here, and on the second round here.

Song Contest

Finally, the GUMI 10th Anniversary song contest is being held on VOCALOTRACKS! From now until July 29 at 3:00 PM (JST), they will be accepting original GUMI song entries, and the winners will be distributed on a variety of music services.

Song entries can use any of the following GUMI voice banks:

Songs must be submitted in .wav / 16bit, 44.1kHz, STEREO format with file size no larger than 65MB (about 6 minutes long). Lyrics must also be submitted in .txt format. Also required are thumbnail images and photos of the artists in .jpg format, 2500×2500 pixels in size and 1:1 aspect ratio. Finally, song titles and the names of each artist involved in their creation must be submitted as well.

A few months ago, Lorenly made an announcement on her Facebook page inviting various artists within the Hispanic VOCALOID fandom to be a part of the creation of an LP or EP, all in celebration of Megpoid GUMI’s 10th anniversary!

Thanks to this, they managed to put together a 13-song album called “¡Felices diez años, Gumi! / Happy 10th Anniversary, GUMI!” which is available as a free download through this link!

Brief History

At first, the total number of tracks for this project wasn’t expected to be this much. But so many producers, musicians, illustrators and voice tuners answered Lorenly’s call that the album went from being an EP to an LP, with a total of 12 original songs.

In addition, a new logo for what would later be the collaborative project “VocaloP Hispanos Colaboraciones” was revealed. The following is the video premiere of the new collaboration from its Facebook page.

A few weeks later and near the album’s release date, an update was made adding one more song, making for a grand total of 13.

The languages of several song from the album were revealed. What’s interesting to note is that although this is an Hispanic VOCALOID community collaboration and most of the songs are in Spanish, there are also English and even Quechua songs, which gives it much more diversity.

Besides the songs, the album download also features a brief bio for each participating artist, even one that didn’t explicitly participate but did have one of his illustrations used.
