Magical Mirai 2020 Updates: Website Renewal, Theme Song and Ticket Info

The Magical Mirai website has been updated, and much more has been revealed about the upcoming event! See below for a summary!

Website

The official Magical Mirai website now sports the main visual by ่—คใกใ‚‡ใ“ / fuzichoco, and is separated into the summer Osaka stop in August, and the winter Tokyo stop in December.

The overall theme of Magical Mirai 2020 is Matsuri (Festival). Because of the differing seasons, the Osaka stop will be themed around “Natsu Matsuri (Summer Festival)” while the Tokyo stop will be themed around “Winter Festival.” The organizers promise that the winter stop will feature events that even Magical Mirai veterans have never experienced before!

Theme Song

We also got initial announcements for the theme song!

Producer: ใƒ”ใƒŽใ‚ญใ‚ชใƒ”ใƒผ / PinocchioP

Title: ๆ„›ใ•ใ‚Œใชใใฆใ‚‚ๅ›ใŒใ„ใ‚‹ / Ai sarenakutemo Kimi ga Iru (You’re Here For Me Even When I’m Unloved)

โ€ปOfficial Title: “Because Youโ€™re Here”

Theme of the song: Relationships between people who love the culture surrounding Hatsune Miku, as seen from Miku’s perspective

Commentary from PinocchioP:

“I can feel the amazing sense of unity among Magical Mirai goers, and the fulfilling sense of entertainment that they derive from show for all these years.
Taking those emotions and giving them shape, I wrote this song from Miku’s perspective, a first for me.
It’s a song about the culture surrounding Hatsune Miku, and the people who love it.
I hope everyone enjoys it.”

Initial coverage of Magical Mirai 2020 on VocaSphere

Hatsune Miku and the gang are at Yomiuri Land Amusement Park this month!

It’s something I wouldn’t have expected to happen, but Hatsune Miku and her gaggle of friends will be helping out at Yomiuri Land, an amusement park in Tokyo!

The illustration for this collaboration was created by ๅทฆ (hidari) , who also drew the original designs for Vocaloids Mayu and Akikoloid-chan!

I also remember posting about the theme song for Yomiuri Land’s Vocaloid collaboration on our Facebook page a while back! Here it is again, “Positive Parade” featuring Hatsune Miku, by DECO*27.

Music: DECO*27

Arrangement: Rockwell

Chorus: ใ—ใป

Illustration: ๅ…ซไธ‰

So while you’re walking around the theme park, you’ll even be able to listen to Miku singing!

As well as this, there have been official collaboration goods produced for the event, AND a collaboration cafe.

In the top left are designs for trading acrylic badges for ยฅ600 (about ยฃ4 GBP / $5 USD) each! Designed by ๅทฆ (hidari) (the ones on the left XD) and ๆœจไธŠใใฎใ“ (Kiue Kinoko) (on the right) come blind, so it might take a while to get the one you want.

Next to them is a design for a type of hoodie, but no information about this has been released yet (I’ll update this article when we find out more).

And at the bottom of the image are the “Colour Parade” gummy sweets. There are two types of boxes, and both have three types of flavoured sweets:

The green ones are muscat grape, the orange ones are… well… orange flavour, and the yellow ones are lemon flavour! There are four individually wrapped gummies of each flavour in the box. The box has Rin, Len and Miku on it, and each coloured sweet is supposed to represent a character!

(I’d like to note that there is also “Kodomo Gumi” written on the box, implying that these sweets are aimed towards kids. Obviously, we all want some anyway though).

In the second box, there are the “adult” sweets, including Luka, Kaito and Meiko themed ones, with the pink ones tasting like peach, the red ones like apples and the blue ones like soda (lemon and lime).

Within each box, you also get a randomly selected sticker of one of the characters on the outside of the box!

There are also super cool can badges available with the same illustrations:

These cost ยฅ660 (about ยฃ5 GBP / $6 USD), but you can actually choose which one you want, rather than them being blind bagged.

The acrylic keyrings will set you back by ยฅ1100 (about ยฃ8 GBP / $10 USD) if you by the ones by ๅทฆ (hidari), and ยฅ990 (about ยฃ7 GBP / $9 USD) if you choose to buy the acrylic stand keyrings by ๆœจไธŠใใฎใ“ .

For anyone with walls that need extra vocaloid fanciness, the B2 tapestry is the way to go, for ยฅ3300 (about ยฃ23 GBP / $30 USD)

If you collect clear files obsessively (like me), you’ll certainly be interested in the two clear file sets, one for each commissioned artist:

Each set is worth ยฅ1650 (about ยฃ11 GBP / $15 USD).

Some of the most unique items are the “Chekki”- style cards sets! Chekki are usually the type of photos you get with a polaroid at a maid cafe, but here you can get “signed” ones from your favourite Cryptonloids! Each set is ยฅ660, so pretty affordable overall.

If you’re a fan of postcards, there will also be a postcard set available for ยฅ1320 (about ยฃ9 GBP / $12 USD). And that’s for all of these:

Another edible piece of merchandise would be the “Collaboration Chocolate Crunch”, a box containing milk chocolate, white chocolate and strawberry flavoured crunchy ball sweets. This set costs ยฅ1080 altogether (about ยฃ7 GBP / $9 USD), and will contain one random sticker from the selection shown.

But it’s not over yet…it’s been said that visitors who try their luck at the “Bungee Jump Challenge” could be in for getting one of these really cool badges too!

As of today, there has also been information about an interesting “deluxe novelty” design for the tickets for the event:

It all looks like so much fun. We have a few tweets showing how the attractions look like after their Vocaloid-makeover-

The ferris wheel :

The “Merry Go Landdog” (I guess it’s called that because there are dogs that you… ride?)

Goodsmile Racing is also going to have a mini collaboration with Yomiuri Land’s “Go kart Family Course”:

One of the other highlights of the event will be the Hatsune Miku x Sea Lion show! The sea lions are said to be dancing to the aforementioned Yomiuri Land x Hatsune Miku theme song!

Oh, and you know the collabo cafe I mentioned earlier?

Here are the menu items! There will be the so called “pancake sandwich” and bubble tea drinks available!

Patrons will also be able to try out the two new games, “Project Sekai” and “Mega 39’s” in the Aurora exhibition space here. Make sure to check them out if you go!

The event will begin on the 15th February, and end on the 15th March 2020! Visitors young and old are sure to have a great time. For ticket prices, see the end of the post!

I think that’s everything for now. Thank you for reading ^^;.

Give The Gift of Miku This Valentine’s

You have to admit, the Valentines gifts that you can see on the highstreet can get a little boring from time to time. But fans of Hatsune Miku need not fret – these super original gift sets will give you the inspiration you need to treat your vocaloid-fanatic of a loved one in the best way!

(If you’re interested in our other Valentines x Vocaloid news, feel free to read about the Mirai Komachi Retweet campaign that was held earlier this year!)

-An adorable Valentine’s Miku plushie

-The bracelet with a charm with Miku’s name engraved on it in English.

These sets were first announced in December 2019, but seeing as Valentine’s day is just around the corner, I’m sure plenty of people will be rushedly buying them in preparation for the 14th February.

They can all still be bought from the Premium Bandai online store, and no doubt there’ll be another installment of fancy Miku chocolates released next year too.

I personally wish they’d have Valentine’s sets for the other Cryptonloids too… ahh, they’d be cute as well!

Anyway, that wraps up our Vocaloid- related Valentine’s product news! Thank you for reading.

MEIKO & KAITO Life-Size Statue Crowdfunding Details

The ACT NOW crowdfunding campaign to fund production of life-sized statues for MEIKO and KAITO is set to run from February 17, 5:00 PM to April 19, 11:59 PM (JST)! See below for how you can participate, and what you can get in return!

About the Project

MEIKO celebrated her 15th anniversary on November 5, 2019, and KAITO will be doing the same next year on February 17, 2021. Those at Crypton Future Media who love the pair believe that the time is finally nigh to celebrate them in a grandiose fashion along with the fans who love them, too.

That’s how the current project to create life-size statues of MEIKO and KAITO got started! If successful, MEIKO’s statue will be revealed first at Magical Mirai 2020, then KAITO’s statue during an official Crypton-sponsored event sometime in 2021. They will then be followed by statues for all of the other four piapro characters sometime in 2022! Needless to say, this is turning out to be a long-term project with many goals along the way.

Snow Miku – Mikufest event in Mikucolle (Part 2)

As promised, here are the updates for the Snow Miku 2020 event in Mikucolle! As we enter the second half of the event, I’ve been working hard to see what items I can earn… so you’ll soon see how successful I’ve been. If you’d like to read the first article about this event, you can read it here.

Here we have the second opening screen, with art by ใพใ‚ (Maro)

And here are the new gacha for the second half of the event!

-First we have a gacha with three options: inside the gacha, the first button on the left is one pull only, and it costs 3 Miku coins (this one can be played up to once a day).

The next button gives you a one pull gacha too, but you can play it as many times you like. This one costs 5 Mikucoins per pull.

Lastly you have the third button, which gives you 10 cards plus one extra, making it the best value for money. You should get at least one SSR with this gacha, and it costs 50 Mikucoins.

-Next there is the free gacha! With this one, you’ll be able to do the equivalent of a 10 + 1 pulls gacha without paying anything. I was very happy with my pull for this (which I’ll show you later). This gacha will disappear once used, leaving four event gacha left.

-With the next gacha down, you’ll need to use special gacha tickets instead of Mikucoins. You only get one pull, but there’s a high probability for an SSR+

-The third Rainbow Rush gacha requires tickets too, but instead, you should get no less than an SSR with your single pull.

Here are the cards available in all of the aforementioned gacha:

Music Resonating Through the Snowy Night” (ใ€Œ้›ชใฎๅคœใซ้Ÿฟใ้Ÿณๆฅฝใ€) – SSR+

Skill: “Our Path …” (ๅƒ•ใ‚‰ใฎ่ปŒ่ทกใ‚’)

Art by ใพใ‚ (Maro)

โ˜†Snow Parade Miku – SSR+

Art by soๅ“ / sohin

Skill: Snow Horn (ใ‚นใƒŽใƒผใƒ›ใƒซใƒณ)

โ˜†Snow Parade Rin – SSR+

Art by soๅ“ / sohin

Skill: “Snow Trumpet” (ใ‚นใƒŽใƒผใƒˆใƒฉใƒณใƒšใƒƒใƒˆ)

โ˜†Snow Parade Len – SSR+

Art by soๅ“ / sohin

Skill: “Snow Trombone” (ใ‚นใƒŽใƒผใƒˆใƒญใƒณใƒœใƒผใƒณ)

โ˜†Snow Parade FM – SSR

Art by soๅ“ / sohin

Skill: Corps, Ten Hut!

-And even more exciting is the box gacha!

For this gacha, you need to earn box gacha tickets (I’ll explain this in a moment). Each ticket that you earn gives you one pull, and the opportunity to get either a special SSR card or hair accessories. But wait…it’s a bit more difficult than that.

Each box has at least 12 items within it. And there are a total of 7 boxes to go through. Each item within the box can be received once, so you need 12 tickets to finish box one. Then you move onto box 2, which has 13 items. And so on, and so forth. I’ll show you what’s in each box:

This is the special card featured in the box:

Big Music Concert in the Night of Falling Snow” (ใ€Œ้›ช้™ใ‚‹ๅคœใฎๅคงๆผ”ๅฅใ€) – SSR+

Art by ใƒ”ใ‚นใ‚ฑ(Pisuke)

Skill: “It seems I’m able to see again!” (ใพใŸ่ฆ‹ใˆใ‚‹ใ‚ˆใ†ใซใชใ‚‹ใฎใ•)

As well as this, you’ll be able to get the special “Winter’s Band” (ใตใ‚†ใฎใŠใ‚“ใŒใใŸใ„) cards, based on designs by ใƒชใ‚บ (Rizu), and some special accessories.

Now how do you actually GET tickets for this gacha? In the Event (ใ‚คใƒ™ใƒณใƒˆ) section of the Mission List (ใƒŸใƒƒใ‚ทใƒงใƒณใƒชใ‚นใƒˆ) , you’ll see a load of white tickets with red writing, which you can earn by clearing an event mission without losing all of you HP, then using Mikucoins to carry on. If you use Mikucoins to carry on in a mission, then you don’t get the achievement. Got it?

So you get 50 of these tickets per mission completed. Then, you have to go into the shop on the main page, click on the “Event” tab, and then exchange these white and red tickets for purely red tickets, which can be used in the box gacha. The exchange rate really hits you though, since it’s 100 of the white tickets for just ONE red ticket. Ouch.

Since my cards weren’t strong enough, I could only finish level 3 – 2, meaning I got 500 white tickets and…only 5 gacha tickets. If you remember the amount of items in Box 1…yeah, I’m not doing well.

But here’s what I’ve got so far from the Box gacha:

And finally, I’ll explain about the special packs in the store.

Snow miku 2020 event only packs (round two)

The first two packs I showed in the previous article have been replaced with these!

Snow Miku 2020 Pack 1 (Round two) – ยฅ10000 ($91 USD/ยฃ70 GBP)

-200 Mikucoins (Buy 100, get 100 free!).

โ€“ One SSR+ Gacha ticket. (A ticket for the “high probability for an SSR” gacha I mentioned).

Snow Miku 2020 Pack 2 (Round two) – ยฅ4900 ($44 USD / ยฃ34)

-91 Mikucoins (Buy 49, get 42 free!)

-One “No less than SSR” gacha ticket (for the second gacha requiring tickets that I mentioned).

Note: you can buy each of these packs a maximum of 10 times.

Our last update for the game is this: now, when you play an event mission, the points you earn will help you get a rank. You’ll be placed in a leaderboard amongst other players, and some of the highest ranked will get this card:

SNOW MIKU 2020 – SSR+

Art by  ใฏใญใ“ใจ (Hanekoto)

Skill: “Let’s Sing in this Night’s Snow Again!” (ใพใŸๆญŒใŠใ†ใ“ใ‚“ใช้›ชใฎๅคœใซ)

And that wraps everything up for now! I’m really glad that Rin and Len get a special card too, since I was getting worried that they wouldn’t. The event will be on until the 17th February 2020, so don’t miss out! Thanks for reading~โ˜†

flower Talk Design Revealed

gynoid first announced that flower would be getting a talk bank back in July, 2019. But since then, we haven’t seen any developments revealed, not even so much as a design… until now.

Reveal at Koetsuki 6?

As gynoid was setting up their booth at the Kono Koe Todoke, Tsuki Made mo 6 doujin event, they tweeted this tease:

“Our booth is complete at Koetsuki 6!”

“Anyone who comes to see the ‘real thing’ at our booth is free to tweet and publicize it! (However, please respect the privacy of other attendants)”

So you know what? I (Marumain) did just that, snapping a photo of what turned out to be a really cool-looking design for v flower!

And of course I shared my discovery on Twitter, too!

But little did I realize, there’s something written on the ribbon-like object attached to flower’s left sleeve, which some keenly aware fans may have noticed…

If one looks at the letters closely, they may be able to make out the words “Talk FloweR”

Could this actually be the design for flower Talk?

gynoid didn’t say until Koetsuki was over, and finally made this confirmation tweet:

“Thank you to everyone who came to gynoid’s booth today at Koetsuki 6! ! We’ve been wanting to exhibit our stuff at Koetsuki for some time, and be just barely managed to make it! We hope you continue to support us in all that we do, starting with this outfit for flower Talk (working name) revealed for the first time!”

So there we have it, flower Talk’s official design! gynoid has proven that they can be quite sneaky indeed, having had fans take pictures of AND publicize her design without knowing it!

Stay tuned as gynoid reveals more about flower Talk, and hopefully they won’t do things in quite a sneaky manner in the future!

Project SEKAI Announcements from Sapporo Factory

During the presentations on February 8 and 9 at the Sapporo Factory Atrium Hall, there were several announcements made for Project SEKAI Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku to help tide fans over until the game’s release, as well as address concerns that were expressed by would-be players.

First Playable Demo

Lucky fans present at the Sapporo Factory Atrium were the first ones in the world to try out the very first demo for Project SEKAI! The available song and MV were for Sweet Magic, just as was revealed a few days prior.

What’s more, the game’s developers invited fans who played the demo to tweet their impressions of it with the hashtag #ใ‚ปใ‚ซใ‚ค่ฉฆ้Š on Twitter. Judging by a tweet from Crypton’s Wataru Sasaki (a.k.a. wat), the initial reactions to the song were mixed.

“(We are now preparing some info that ought to ease some of the negative opinions towards yesterday’s Sweet Magic reveal. We’re being careful with how we present the info so that everyone can understand the direction we’re going in. We hope you look forward to it…)”

The negativity that wat was probably referring to is how Rin’s voice is barely audible among the members of Wonderlands x Showtime, that the balance between virtual singer and human singers was off.

Players can choose the singers

It was during the talk stage on Sunday, February 9 that we got to learn about the new information that wat referred to, though some of it was actually announced before.

One announcement was a reminder that the game will feature both the original VOCALOID versions of the featured songs, as well as new ‘sekai’ versions covered by the game’s original characters along with the VOCALOID characters. Players are free to choose which version they want to play, meaning that those who disliked the ‘sekai’ version of Sweet Magic can still choose and play the VOCALOID version that they prefer.

This point was reinforced in the next tweet from the Project SEKAI official Twitter account, stating how alternate versions of some songs in the game with only virtual singers singing will be recorded, and that players can switch to them if they wish. Another tweet from wat clarified that it will not be for all songs in the game, but the developers are indeed including them so as to satisfy as many play preferences among the player base as possible.

After all, the theme of Project SEKAI is “singing together,” and the developers want nothing more than players of all tastes and preferences to play and enjoy the game in exactly the way that they want.

This led into the next announcement about the 3D music videos that play during the game: players will have the option to choose whichever character they want to appear in the music video, much like what they can already do in Project DIVA games. The default characters for each music video are not set in stone. A pic was even tweeted to show MEIKO and KAITO in the same music video that we saw Rin and the Wonderlands x Showtime members dancing in.

Ichika Hoshino to Perform at ‘Live Session!’ with Marasy

The next announcement on February 9 likely came as a surprise to many: the game’s main character Ichika Hoshino would be guest performing at ‘Live Session! Marasy with Hatsune Miku & Kagamine Rin Acoustic Live‘ the following day!

Right after that announcement was made, wat again tweeted to chime in.

“Concerning the whole singing balance issue, we have been very deeply involved and are listening to everyone’s opinions and concerns very closely, taking actions to form a plan that pleases as many as possible. There may be times when we fall short, but we will constantly reevaluate the plan to the best of our ability, and hope that you will continue to support us.”

After the session took place on February 10, the Project SEKAI dev team thanked everyone who came to watch and listen to Ichika perform and sing for the first time!

Here is one audience member’s impressions on the performance:

“Continuing with the Eastern-style songs was “ๅคฉ็…งใƒฉใ‚ป / Amaterase.” Then Rin-chan changed to her default outfit, and together with Ichika Hoshino, a character in the upcoming game Project SEKAI, they sang duets of “ใƒญใ‚นใƒˆใƒฏใƒณใฎๅทๅ“ญ / Lost One’s Weeping” and “ใƒญใ‚ญ / Roki.” Though it was a VOCALOID and a human singer together, there was no sense of disharmony at all, and I quite enjoyed the piano and duet arrangements of these two intense songs.”

So far, we have had two instances of Project SEKAI characters singing alongside a VOCALOID, and giving us an idea of how the songs in Project SEKAI will sound like. Reactions were expectedly mixed, but reading comments like these, this author is quite confident that the teams at Colorful Palette and Crypton Future Media can pull off the right balance of singing voices in the ‘sekai’ versions of the songs, and deliver VOCALOID fans a game that they can really get into!

Project SEKAI at Yomiuriland

The next announcement should come as good news to anyone who couldn’t make it to Sapporo: Project SEKAI will have a booth at Yomiuriland!

The theme park’s collaboration with Hatsune Miku will begin on February 15 and last until March 15. You can already feel the excitement for it!

The announcement about the Project SEKAI booth should excite fans and draw them to the park! Whatโ€™s more, from March 7 through March 9, they will even have playable demos of the game available! Be sure to check it out if you live in or will be in Honshu during that time!

Retweet Campaign

Finally, the last announcement made on Sunday was the new retweet campaign going on now!
