Luo Tianyi x Shumen Collaboration Updates

The previously reported collaboration between Luo Tianyi and Shumen is in full swing, and there have been some exciting announcements for players!

Login Game

A login game is now playable on your web browser here. It can also be played on your mobile phone by scanning the QR code above.

The game is available until October 10, and it lets players roll a dice once a day to move around a grid and let Tianyi collect prizes for them. Please note that you will need an 11-digit Chinese cell phone number in order to play the game, however.

New Outfit and Contest

Tianyi now has a new design with fox ears and a tail by Catcan! Below, you can even find wallpapers featuring the design, which all come from here.

Furthermore, a contest is currently being held that makes use of the new outfit!

Between now, and October 16, fans are challenged to create something themed around “Sichuan Cuisine” and using Tianyi’s new design.

Acceptable entries include but are not limited to: illustrations, comic strips, chibi manga, clay sculpture, MMD model, etc., as long as it uses Tianyi in her new design and is themed around “Sichuan Cuisine.”

Hatsune Miku x Glico 2019 Collaboration Announced

This year’s collaboration between Hatsune Miku and Twin Magicians Lico and Gli (mascots of Glico) has been revealed!

Starting on August 20, anyone who purchases at least 3 pieces of Glico products at participating AEON malls in Japan (Honshu and Shikoku only) will receive a set of A6 clear file folders!

These folders will come as one, but can be detached down the center to become two separate folders! They feature artwork of Miku, MEIKO, and KAITO, and Luka with Lico, Gli, and other Glico characters illustrated by ็‡ˆๅฝฉ / Hiiroto.

Whether or not these folders will have special AR capabilities like in past collaborations remains to be seen. However, the main news page announcing the collaboration contains a link to the Twin Magicians Lico and Gli app on the App Store and Google Play, implying that perhaps the app can be used with the products in some way. We will see if any announcements regarding this are made!

Xin Hua at the Creative Yunnan Cultural Industries Expo 2019

The 2019 Creative Yunnan Cultural Industries Expo took place at Kunming, China on Thursday, August 8, and fans of Xin Hua who were in attendance had some sights to enjoy!

TANITA Collaboration

During the expo, a collaboration between Xin Hua and TANITA was revealed at their event space. A new design was even created by ๆœ”ๆœ” / Shuo for the event, showing a very sporty side to the VOCALOID character.

A life-size popup display of Xin Hua in her new outfit could be seen alongside TANITA’s posters promoting healthy lifestyles and dieting. It’s very possible that more will come from this collaboration in the near future, so stay tuned for developments!

Xin Hua on Gatebox?

Also at the expo, it was announced that Gatebox will soon be making its way into the Chinese market. Gatebox CEO Jin Nakamura was even present to demonstrate Hikari Azuma to the crowd, and how she interacts as a virtual A.I. to owners of their product.

What is relevant to VOCALOID fans is that Gatebox is being brought into China through a partnership with the Shanghai Fangcheng Group., which Xin Hua’s rights holders, Shanghai Wangcheng Information Technology Co. Ltd., is a part of. The goal of the partnership is to promote Gatebox in China with a focus on “virtual idol culture.”

In fact, towards the end of the official announcement article, Xin Hua is even pictured and introduced to readers while it was hinted that someday, a certain “virtual idol, brimming with the national characteristics of China, will sing beautiful songs for us with her elegant and cute voice.” Could this mean that Xin Hua will become a Gatebox character someday? We’ll have to wait and see, and as always, we will report on any developments!

2nd Hatsune Miku x BanG Dream! Girls Band Party Collaboration Details

The second collaboration event between Hatsune Miku and BanG Dream! Girls Band Party will go live on August 23 in the Japanese version of the popular mobile rhythm game! Below is the main visual for the event featuring Miku with the members of Pastel๏ผŠPalettes. The Miku-themed skins for live performances will also make a return!

The cover song that the idol band will be performing for the event is ใ‹ใ‚‰ใใ‚Šใƒ”ใ‚จใƒญ / Karakuri Pierrot by 40mP. Just like with the first Miku collaboration, they will soon have the music video for the cover on YouTube and Niconico. The short version will be revealed first on August 22, 12:00 PM (JST) and will stay available until August 25, 11:59 AM (JST). The full version will then be made public on August 26.

Speaking of the first Miku collab, it has also been announced that the music videos for its three cover songs will soon be made available again for viewing!

Players in the game can also soon unlock the Karakuri Pierrot-themed outfits for the Pastel๏ผŠPalettes members when the event goes live, and the outfits from the previous collaboration will be made available again through the Michelle sticker exchange.

Finally, no less than four different retweet campaigns will be taking place back-to-back this month! **UPDATE**

Mixx Garden’s official Twitter account recently confirmed some other details about what visitors to the collaboration cafe can get.

Those who purchase a ticket to the cafe event from 7ticket will receive a discount ticket for one of the collaboration drink items, as well as a ticket for 1 of 15 possible illustration cards of their choosing.

Futhermore, once in the cafe, all visitors will be able to receive a free A3 poster from among the any of the following groups of their choosing:

  • Kagerou Project: 1 random out of 12 posters
  • IA/Oะ˜E: 1 random out of 5 posters
  • Spinoid: 1 poster
  • Lia: 1 poster

โ€ปAlthough visitors can choose their desired poster category, which poster they receive will be randomly determined if they choose Kagerou Project or IA/Oะ˜E.

Hatsune Miku x Fujiya Collaboration Cookies Announced

The latest collaboration between Hatsune Miku and Fujiya Co. brings us another sweet new product: strawberry white chocolate cookies!

Each cookie is about 80mm in diameter, and there are four cookies per box. Just like with the previous collaboration, the character art on the box was provided by Rella, who also drew chibi illustrations of the Crypton Future Media VOCALOID characters and Peko-chan for merchandise.
